Tip on Canned Cat Food

Canned cat food is often recommended for cats that have urinary tract problems such as a history of bladder stones, crystals , "feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC)" or "feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD)". The canned food has a much higher percentage of water.

The canned food therefore increases water intake and causes your cat to produce less concentrated urine. Bouillon, clam juice, juice from canned tuna, and water also can be added to dry foods to increase water intake.
