Tip on Making Low-Calorie Kitty Treats

If your kitty is on a special low calorie diet, you may be trying to figure out what you can use for a "treat" that is low calorie. One way to make low calorie treats is to buy some premium quality "light" food that your cat likes and make treats from it. To do that, simply use the canned food to make dough. Add a small amount of flour – enough that allows you to roll it out. Use cookie cutters or simply cut into small pieces and bake. The size of the treats should be small – similar to the size of cat treats that you buy. Most foods you can bake at 350 degrees F for 8 – 15 minutes – until hard. Baking time will depend on the texture and thickness of the treat.
