Your Dog is Hit by a Car – Do You Know What to Do?

What would you do in case of an emergency with you dog? What if your dog suffered from poisoning or heat stroke or was hit by a car? Emergencies like these happen all the time, just ask any emergency vet.

I know most people think it will never happen to them, but trust me, these things do happen.

Your dog’s health is very important to me, so I want all my Pet Place subscribers to be well prepared to deal with potential health emergencies.

I’ve made the decision to invest some time over the next few weeks visiting animal emergency clinics, and to write about my experiences and what I learned. I want to explain how pet emergency rooms operate, give you information about common emergencies and tips on how to prepare for and prevent these common emergencies.

Going out to pet emergency rooms will allow me to give you the best and most useful information. I’m really excited about this!

So, what do you do in the case of an emergency? The best thing you can do is to be prepared. It is important that you know who to call, where to go, what to do, and be financially prepared for any unexpected expense.

The first thing you can do is to find out how your vet handles emergencies. Does he see these cases himself or does he send you to a local emergency room? Call and find out. WRITE DOWN the phone number and directions. The best way to deal with an emergency is to prepare and plan ahead.

Another important thing you can do to prepare for an emergency is to evaluate your financial situation. If you can manage a $2,000.00 or $2,500.00 expense, then you may be prepared financially to deal with a difficult situation. Most of us would never consider going without medical insurance ourselves, so why wouldn’t we insure our pets? You never really know what can happen, so you really consider the benefits of pet insurance

Pet insurance helps pay for your pet’s treatments, surgeries, lab fees, X-rays, and much more. It will give you peace of mind knowing that you can always care for your dog in case of emergency.

Why do I believe in pet insurance? Well, because I’ve seen it save the lives of so many pets. So take a minute…and find out if pet insurance is right for you.

Well, I’m off to the emergency clinic. I’m very excited to share my emergency room experiences and give you valuable information to help you and your dog in the case of an emergency. I have tons of ideas that I want to share and lots of great tips. So check your e-mail frequently for updates.

Until next time,

Dr. Debra
