Are labradoodles good dogs?

Hi – thanks for your email. You wrote asking about my opinion on the labradoodle. As you probably know, the labradoodle is a cross between a Labrador retriever and a standard poodle. Many dog lovers enjoy this breed because they have some of the good traits of both breeds. Most dogs will look more like a Labrador but have slightly curly hair but their size, shape, confirmation and hair color/texture will vary depending on the specific dog and parent dogs.

In general, given that the parents are good dogs (good behavioral traits and good genetics) – labradoodles are great dogs. They are known to have minimal shedding, be quite athletic with a good temperament.
